Success Stories: Julia Rodriguez

One of my favourite things about switching to a real food lifestyle is the weight loss "side effect". When I started eating real foods, I dropped 30 pounds without even trying. And, I have never gained it back. Today Julia is sharing her Keto success story with us. Be inspired!

After having two kids and getting married I realized my weight had spiraled out of control. I was 254lbs and felt extremely uncomfortable in my own skin. I knew I had to make a sustainable lifestyle change and get to a place mentally that changed my relationship with food. One of the first things I needed was motivation, so I went on Instagram and looked up hashtags related to weight loss and found a huge community of people who had successfully lost large amounts of weight.

I noticed the Ketogenic diet was a very common weight loss tool and the food looked like something I could definitely get used to. I basically went to my kitchen and threw away everything that wasn't on the diet, filled it with the food I was supposed to eat and simply took it one day at a time. At the beginning I would go to the gym and basically feel it out, I didn't want fitness to be something that would discourage me, so I went at my own pace. After doing what I enjoyed in the gym and staying on a low-carb, high fat, moderate protein, no sugar diet I am now 189lbs with a total loss of 65lbs.

My long-term goal is to lose 100lbs and I now have the tools, education and confidence to do so! My life has completely transformed, I have new-found hope for my future and am able to do things I never thought possible. If you'd like more information, you can find my weight loss page on Instagram at julz_beauty_keto where I share daily posts about my weight loss journey. I aspire to be the motivation and inspiration for others to start their weight loss success stories and to share the blessing Keto has been to me!
