I Love Essential Oils

And You Should Too!

My interest in essential oils was a natural progression of my interests in holistic wellness and alternative medicine.  I lived most of my life tired and unable to do even the simplest tasks without napping. With each pregnancy my lack of energy became worse and worse, and recurring infections became more frequent. Most doctors wanted to give me antibiotics, anti-depressants and/or sleeping pills. No one understood my pleas that there was something very wrong with me.

After my fourth child, of course ;), I was able to find a naturopath, who listened to me, and he discovered that I had a systemic candida infection so severe I was in the top 10% of worst cases he had ever seen, and this was a BUSY doctor! After his treatment I felt like a new person and this started me on my new road toward natural healing, which has been about 11 years now.

Shortly after my holistic health journey began, I was introduced to essential oils. I was VERY skeptical at first, but through my own use, research and several classes I became convinced that they are indeed an important part of natural healing just like eating “clean”, good sleep, and quality supplements. I ordered and used 3 or 4 oils for some of our health issues with good results.

really fell in love with Young Living as a company, however, when I was able to visit their farm this past summer. Those that know me, know organic farming practices, sustainability and education are issues near and dear to my heart! I love it so much, I now run a growing health food co-op and a Nutritional Therapy practice. And I see YL practices as an extension of my heart for supporting quality farming. Young Living’s seed to seal process, beyond organic farms and commitment to purity and quality REALLY spoke to me.

In my practice I find that essential oils are really powerful when addressing emotional factors, getting the body into a parasympathetic (rest + digest) state, vagal stimulation and for barriers and switching. I typically use them in a diffuser or diluted in a roll on throughout the day depending on my purpose. I very rarely recommend them for ingestion.

Now, I will never be one of those annoying pushy oil ladies but if you are interested in getting into essential oils I can help. I love sharing my oily knowledge (and more) one on one or in a class setting, in person or online. Check out my Essentials 101 Class here, send me a note, or just order oils through my Young Living site.
